Imperial Guard Steel Legion The idea behind my steel legion army was that of an armoured column raised from the home world of Tallarn. The Armageddon Steel Legion Army list was to be used but with Tallarn models for the infantry. I basically collected this army because of one thing.
Tanks. Tanks and more tanks. Never go into battle without some sort of
tank. It was originally designed for tournament use so it only 1500
points. My strategy with the mechanised infantry is to sit in
my deployment zone with all my units. The Imperial Guardsmen stay in
their chimeras for protection (guardsmen die easily). It is important
that all but the squad with meltagun take up good firing postions. The
meltagun squad and the hellhound act as a reserve protecting my
basilisk. Imperial Guard will never win at close quarters. Once the
enemy get near it is time to panic. The hellhound can drive forward and
hope to drive the enemy back giving more time for my tanks to pour shots
into the enemy. One thing I found while playing with a steel legion army
is that there is an awful amount of firepower. Each chimera has two
heavy weapons plus a squad heavy weapon inside. Read
