Saim-Hann Wild Riders Details of the army can be seen by clicking on the links to the right. The
Eldar have always been a difficult army to play and with the Craftworld
Eldar Saim-Hann rules this was a challenge I couldn’t refuse. Although
designed to take to a tournament it is really a show case army and
something which will look impressive on the table while not being able
to win. The problem is that the army rarely gets to go first due to the
lack of troop points. Most of the points are tied up in fast attack.
Going second allows the enemy to shoot down to the skimmers as they do
not get move first. The army consist of very few models which allowed time to be spent on each individual jetbike. As each model cost relatively a lot of points a Saim-Hann army can be built up in a very short space of time. I would not recommend an army like this to a beginner as it is very difficult to get to grips with. One thing the Saim-Hann player must have is a good eye for judging distances as the slight underestimate could mean the difference between a victory or defeat. When creating the army I decided that no miniature was to be put together straight from the box. If possible I was going to convert every single member of my army no matter how small. The army was taken to the Waaagh in October. Overall it fared reasonably well coming a respectable seventh place. It picked up 2nd place in the painting area while getting a good selection mark. However the place where the army was let down was in the generalship. Overall I won two games (one of those was sheer luck. The game ended on turn 4 and I won on quarters. My opponent and I played on after just to see what would happen and I got slaughtered). I drew one game (Again sheer luck as my opponent had broken my army and won but charged his Furisio into my warlock and he blew it up therefore causing his army to break on the same turn). I proceeded to loose three games, one of which on turn 2. Read
