Painting
Red
Many
people worry whether the red they highlight will look too orange or pink
depending on what colour is used. The obvious thing to do
would be to highlight red with a brighter red. I generally paint over black. Although probably not the best way to paint it often gives a more solid look to the model. Over the black I paint a deep red such as scab red. As scab red often doesn't cover well two or three coats may be needed. I then highlight it with blood red, keeping it subtle at all times. A red glaze is then applied to finish it off. If you do not have red glaze use a watered down red ink.
The
models shown above have around 8 stages of highlight.
