  Painting Black

Michael T. Wei Na

If you need an army painted quickly do it it black. In this simple guide I will show you how easy it is to paint black. Here I have chosen the apothecary as an example. The weapons will be painted in black.

Stage 1

First start with a black undercoat. This should be done using a spray as it gives an even coat..

Stage 2

Once the spray paint is dry you can move to the base coat. Mix a little washing up liquid with a watered down black paint. Coat the entire model with it. This gives a better surface to paint and covers any areas left out while spraying. This is probably the most important step. The black from the spray is different to that of acrylic black.

Stage 3

To render the black first mix one third hawk turquoise in with two thirds black. This creates the first highlight. Paint this on to the edges on the areas you want black.
