Iron Warriors Chaos Marines The Iron Warriors are the one of the first founding
legions and were the fourth created after the Emperor’s Children. Like
a few of the other chapters, the Iron Warrior’s history is a dark one,
with both much bloodshed and the loss of innocent life. You like them
already, yes! The first thing that got my attention of the iron
warriors was (again) their history. You get a real feel into their
background and beliefs from the “White Dwarf” article published in
issue 256 (you should read this). When it comes to fighting, the Iron Warriors are much
better at shooting than at combat and make use of many heavy weapons to
blast the enemy apart at long distances. In 40K, the game is usually
decided through combat rather than shooting. I prefer shooting and so
the Iron Warriors were a perfect choice for me as they excel at this.
There ability to take up to 4 heavy support choices can make them very
deadly. In my original 1500pt army (before the rules in the “White
Dwarf” were released) I decided to theme my army by taking 3 heavy
support choices. My army consisted of
my Exalted champion in terminator with lightning claws to lead
the army, his bodyguard of 6 terminators, two ten man squads, a ten man
close combat squad, a predator, a unit of havocs and a land raider. If you too are someone who likes a shooty army as
opposed to a close combat orientated one, then the Iron Warriors are a
good choice. Also, with their new rules released, they are very
good at the bunker assault mission, whether
it be attacking or defending. I went up against an Ork player and
managed to destroy all three of his bunkers in the first turn. Anthony |
