High Elf Repeater Bolt Throwers
One of the most feared part of a High Elf army are Repeater Bolt Throwers. The word 'Bolt Thrower' would strike fear into any heavily armoured knight. Bolt Throwers are of less use against armies with huge amounts of low cost troops as they never do enough damage to get their points worth. A bolt thrower can't kill 25 odd goblins in one game. However against armies with lots of knights like Bretonnians bolt throwers will reek havoc. Also combined with Shadow Warriors the Bolt Throwers can decimate a Chaos Warrior army. The Shadow Warriors can stop the Chaos units marching (by moving within 8") while the Bolt Throwers shoot them to pieces. If the Bolt Thrower kills one Chaos Knight it has almost paid for its points! I have three bolt throwers in my entire army of which two are generally used in a 2000 point game. This is one unit in the high elf army that can pierce through armour so I would heartily recommend them to all High Elf players. |
