The fall of firebase Alpha

700 Hrs: First swarm detected on long-range scans.

715 Hrs: Swarm reaches perimeter defences.

720 Hrs: Heavy fighting across perimeter.

730 Hrs: First Swarm broken, majority of swarm destroyed, the Hive tyrant still lives.

745 Hrs: Kill teams formed to hunt surviving Tyranids.

750 Hrs: Contact lost with 1 team. Assume the worst.

802 Hrs: All kill teams lost. Long-range scans indicate a larger swarm approaching.

805 Hrs: All units ordered to withdraw to firebase perimeter. One unit lost to Lictor ambush.

806 Hrs: Lictor destroyed by heavy weapons fire.

820 Hrs: The large swarm reaches the perimeter. Survivors from the swarm have grouped up with the new swarm.

827 Hrs: Heavy fighting. Tremendous losses to either side. Our foe is implacable and will not halt. The perimeter is breached.

829 Hrs: All units withdraw to within the firebase. Honours to unit Dermius who held off the broods whilst we fled at the cost of their own lives.

845 Hrs: The base has become infested with rippers. Units have been assigned to patrol and exterminate any that they find.

857 Hrs: The walls are breached, fierce hand to hand fighting has erupted throughout the complex.

858 Hrs: Order given to target synapse creatures. Their termination could be our only chance of survival.

904 Hrs: Units Termus and Gamma report successful termination of Tyranid warriors. No word from the units assigned to deal with the Hive Tyrants.

906 Hrs: The Tyrants have both survived. What little remains of our defence force is being quickly hunted down.

907 Hrs: The Tyranids are approaching my position, the walls are being torn asunder, something is breaking through it………………………………………..
