Dark Angel Chaplain I
have two Chaplains, one in terminator armour (as I mentioned earlier)
and another with a jump-pack. Both
Chaplains have done very well for me, the terminator having once
finished off an Avatar, a Wraithlord, a Farseer and a ton of Wraithguard
all in one game and surviving to the end. My Jump-pack equipped chaplain gave his best performance in a special scenario against Orks. I was allied with a friend who at the time used Ultramarines (though he has since moved to the Orks), and we were up against a massive horde of Orks (and to make matters worse they used the sustained attack rules) and our mission was to capture an Ork truck that was driving off with an experimental power source that we were meant to be guarding. The Chaplain led my assault squad (which back then consisted of 5 marines with one plasma pistol) on a merry rampage through the Ork army, first removing the Orks from a bunker half way along the table (we were playing down a 48” board by the way) and then moving forward to wipe out several Ork mobs before the Chaplain and the Assault marines split up. The Assault marines destroying many Ork vehicles with their melta-bombs and the Chaplain wiping out several more Ork mobs before herding our objective into the Ultramarine veteran sergeant who won us the game. Unfortunately the Chaplain didn’t survive, after killing over 40 Orks by himself he was killed in combat by a mob of 5 boys.
